2 Pilots Killed In Air Force’s MiG-21 Jet Crash In Rajasthan’s Barmer
Two pilots were killed on Thursday night when Air Force’s MiG-21 fly crashed during a preparation fight in Rajasthan’s Barmer.
“A twin seater Mig-21 mentor airplane of the IAF was airborne for a preparation fight from Utarlai air base in Rajasthan tonight. Around 9:10 pm, the airplane met with a mishap close to Barmer. The two pilots supported deadly wounds,” the Air Force said in a proclamation.
“IAF profoundly laments the deficiency of lives and stands solidly with the deprived families,”it further said.
A court of request has been requested to explore the reason for the mishap, it said.
Safeguard Minister Rajnath Singh addressed Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari following the accident.
“Profoundly anguished by the deficiency of two Air Warriors because of a mishap of IAF’s Mig-21 mentor airplane close to Barmer in Rajasthan,” Mr Singh said on Twitter.
The MiG-21 is a Soviet-period single-motor multirole warrior/ground assault airplane that once shaped the foundation of the IAF armada.
The airplane has an unfortunate security record and is supposed to be removed from administration inside the following 10 years by which time it will be supplanted with additional cutting edge types.
