9 passengers, including schoolchildren, were killed when a bus fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’ Kullu this morning. Visuals showed the heavily broken vehicle. Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg aforesaid the bus, headed to Sainj, fell into the gorge close to Jangla village around 8.30 am. District officers and rescue groups have reached the spot, he said, adding that the harmed were being rush to a close-by hospital.

A minimum of forty students were within the bus when the accident took place, the officers said.

The Prime Minister’ workplace has tweeted that the families of these killed within the accident would receive a compensation of ₹ 2 lakh every.

“The Prime Minister has approved an ex-gratia of ₹ 2 lakh each from PMNRF for consecutive of kin of those who have lost their lives because of the tragic bus accident in Himachal Pradesh. The harmed would lean ₹ 50,000 each,” it said.
