What does the role involve
We are looking for skilled and talented engineers to join our Platform team and directly contribute to development of application components built by the team.
The Platform team in BlueOptima works across Product lines and is responsible for providing a scalable technology platform which is used by the Product team to build their application, improve performance of it, or even improve the SDLC by improving the application delivery pipeline, etc.
Platform team is also responsible for driving technology adoption across the product development team. The team works on components that are common across product lines like IAM (Identity & Access Management), Auto Scaling, APM (Application Performance Monitoring) and CI/CD, etc
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be directly contributing to development of software components using Spring Boot, Hibernate, HornetQ, Quartz, Elasticsearch, AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, etc.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will also be collaborating with other product development teams to understand their pain points, application performance bottlenecks faced, review their solution, and enforce performance measures and guidelines to the solution being implemented by the teams.
While contributing directly to the development of the software components, you are also expected to lead and mentor a team of next generation platform engineers.
Responsibilities include:
Analyze, Design, Develop, implement, test and maintain application software components
Set out architectural guidelines for the team and infuse best practices in the development teams
Own end to end SDLC, i.e. from Requirement Estimation to Release in production
Debug application issues and helping support respond to client queries
Provide accurate estimates, clearly communicates the status of tasks and identification of risks
Commitment to accomplishing the task at hand and identify the fastest and most reliable way to solve a problem
Performance tuning of application code at different service levels
Incorporate design changes to improve performance of the application
Lead, mentor and guide team to success
